Closing bookings on a class#
Sometimes you need to stop accepting new bookings for a specific class instance before it reaches its booking limit. The Close bookings control lets you instantly block all new bookings and waitlist activity on a single class instance while keeping existing bookings intact.
How to close bookings#
- Go to Admin → Classes/Events
- Open the specific class instance you want to close
- In Current Event Details, click Close bookings
The status changes to Bookings closed and Naayya records the timestamp and which team member closed it.
How to reopen bookings#
- Go to Admin → Classes/Events
- Open the closed class instance
- In Current Event Details, click Reopen bookings
Bookings and waitlist activity resume immediately.
What happens when bookings are closed#
- New bookings are blocked from all channels — web, iOS, POS, and admin tools
- Waitlist joins are blocked for that class
- Waitlist promotions, offers, and auto-book are paused for that class
- Existing bookings are not affected — customers keep their spots and can still cancel normally
What customers see#
When a class has bookings closed:
- A Bookings Closed badge appears next to the class title
- The booking sidebar is replaced with: "Bookings are closed — This class is currently closed for new bookings by the studio."
- No pricing or checkout options are shown
When to use this#
- At operational capacity — you're physically full even though the booking limit hasn't been reached
- Instructor absence or facility issue — temporarily prevent bookings while you sort things out
- Adjusting class details — hold bookings while you update the schedule, location, or pricing
Common questions#
Does closing affect existing bookings?#
No. All existing bookings remain in place. Customers keep their spots and are not notified about the closure.
Can I close all future instances at once?#
No. Close bookings applies to individual class instances. If you want to stop bookings across an entire series, close each instance individually or consider archiving the series.
What about waitlist members?#
Waitlist members already on the list stay there, but no new joins are allowed and no promotions or offers are sent while bookings are closed. When you reopen, waitlist processing resumes.
