Naayya access is assigned per studio. A team member can have one or more roles, and some studios also use custom capability bundles for finer control.
How access works#
Access is shaped by three layers:
- Studio membership decides which studio the person belongs to.
- Assigned roles unlock baseline access such as owner, manager, teacher, or receptionist.
- Capability bundles can further narrow or expand what someone can do inside a studio.
If a person has multiple roles, Naayya combines their access.
Studio-wide pages are still limited#
Some admin areas are intentionally broader and remain owner or manager scoped for now. Examples include:
- The main dashboard with studio-wide metrics
- The People workspace for customers, leads, and staff
- The studio-wide Bookings page
- The top-level Appointments dashboard
This means a staff member may still do operational work elsewhere in Naayya even if those overview pages are unavailable.
Capability-based areas#
Other areas can now be more targeted by permission bundle. Depending on the studio setup, a team member may have access to:
- Class and schedule management
- Marketing tools
- POS
- Selected booking actions
Some experiences also support read-only access. For example, a person may be able to open POS without being allowed to complete checkout.
Custom roles#
Studios on the custom-role beta can create studio-specific roles with their own capability bundles. These appear alongside the standard system roles when assigning staff.
Use custom roles when the standard roles are too broad or when you need a focused operational permission set.
Changing access#
Go to Admin > Settings > Staff to manage team access.
- Owners and managers can assign roles.
- Only owners can remove existing role assignments.
- Owners should handle owner-level changes, billing access, and payment setup tasks.
If someone sees a limited workspace#
This usually means their current role can open a narrower tool, but not the full studio-wide admin page. Review their assigned roles first, then adjust capability bundles if your studio uses custom roles.
