Coupons and discounts reduce what a customer pays. Use them carefully because they affect checkout, revenue, and customer expectations.
Naayya has two common discount workflows:
- Customer coupons from a customer detail page
- Business-wide discounts and promo codes from Admin > Discounts
Customer coupons#
Use customer coupons for individual situations:
- Service recovery
- A promised courtesy discount
- A returning customer offer
- A one-person adjustment
To add one:
- Go to Admin > Customers.
- Open the customer detail page.
- Open the actions menu.
- Select Add Coupon.
- Enter the code, type, value, expiry, and usage rules.
- Save the coupon.
Customer coupons are tied to the selected customer.
Business-wide discounts#
Use Admin > Discounts for reusable discount programs.
You can review active and expired coupons, create a new coupon, open coupon details, and create promo codes where supported.
Use this for:
- Launch promotions
- Seasonal offers
- Partner codes
- Campaign-specific codes
- Reusable checkout discounts
What to decide before creating a coupon#
Decide:
- Who should be able to use it
- Whether it is percentage or fixed amount
- Whether it can be used once or multiple times
- When it expires
- Which products or purchases it should apply to
- Whether it needs a public promo code
If the discount is meant for one customer, use a customer coupon. If it is meant for many customers, use Discounts.
What you cannot fix with a coupon#
Do not use a coupon to hide a payment, product, or credit problem.
If a customer should receive credits, adjust credits or products. If a payment is wrong, review the payment. If a class was cancelled, check cancellation and credit behavior.
Troubleshooting#
The coupon does not work at checkout#
Check expiry, usage limits, customer restrictions, product restrictions, and whether the customer entered the correct code.
The wrong discount amount was created#
Create a corrected coupon and remove the wrong one if it should not be used. Keep a note for customer support context.
A coupon appears expired#
Check the expiry date and timezone expectations. Expired coupons should not be used for new checkout.
