Coupons give customers discounts on products and classes. You can create coupons for individual customers or situations where you want to offer special pricing.

What Are Coupons?#

Coupons are digital discounts that:

  • Give customers money off purchases
  • Can be for specific amounts or percentages
  • Have expiration dates
  • Can be used once or multiple times
  • Apply to specific products or all products

When to Use Coupons#

  • Welcome new customers
  • Apologize for service problems
  • Reward loyal customers
  • Encourage customers to return
  • Run special promotions
  • Compensate for class cancellations

Types of Coupons#

Percentage Discount#

  • Takes a percentage off the purchase
  • Example: "20% off any class package"
  • Good for flexible discounts

Fixed Amount Discount#

  • Takes a specific dollar amount off
  • Example: "$10 off your next purchase"
  • Good for exact discounts

Free Product Coupons#

  • Gives customer a free specific item
  • Example: "Free single class"
  • Good for service recovery

How to View Customer Coupons#

On Customer Details Page#

  1. Go to any customer's profile
  2. Look in the customer profile section
  3. You'll see number of active coupons
  4. Click to see coupon details

Coupon Information Shown#

  • Coupon code - Unique ID for the coupon
  • Discount type - Percentage or fixed amount
  • Discount value - How much off they get
  • Expiration date - When coupon stops working
  • Usage limit - How many times they can use it
  • Times used - How many times they already used it

How to Create a Coupon for a Customer#

Step 1: Access Add Coupon#

  1. Go to the customer's detail page
  2. Look for the Add Coupon button
  3. Click it to open the coupon creation form

Step 2: Choose Coupon Type#

Select what kind of discount:

  • Percentage - For % off (like 25% off)
  • Fixed amount - For money off (like $15 off)

Step 3: Set Discount Value#

  • For percentage: Enter number without % sign (enter "20" for 20% off)
  • For fixed amount: Enter dollar amount (enter "15" for $15 off)

Step 4: Set Expiration Date#

  • Choose when the coupon stops working
  • Give customers reasonable time to use it
  • Consider your busy seasons and customer patterns

Step 5: Set Usage Limit#

  • Single use - Customer can use only once
  • Multiple use - Customer can use several times
  • Set number based on how generous you want to be

Step 6: Add Description (Optional)#

  • Write what the coupon is for
  • Example: "Apology for cancelled class"
  • Helps you remember why you created it

Step 7: Create Coupon#

  • Click Create Coupon to finish
  • Customer will receive coupon in their account
  • Coupon appears in their active coupons list

Managing Existing Coupons#

How to Edit Coupons#

  1. Find the coupon in customer's profile
  2. Click Edit next to the coupon
  3. Change what you need:
    • Expiration date
    • Usage limit
    • Description
  4. Save your changes

What You Can Edit#

  • Expiration date - Make it last longer or shorter
  • Usage limit - Allow more or fewer uses
  • Description - Update the reason or details

What You Cannot Edit#

  • Discount type (percentage vs fixed amount)
  • Discount value (amount of money off)
  • Coupon code (system generates this)

How to Remove Coupons#

  1. Find the coupon in customer's profile
  2. Click Delete or Remove next to the coupon
  3. Confirm you want to remove it
  4. Coupon will no longer work for customer

New Customer Welcome#

  1. Create 20% off coupon
  2. Set expiration for 30 days
  3. Allow single use
  4. Description: "Welcome to our studio!"

Service Recovery#

  1. Create fixed amount coupon for reasonable compensation
  2. Set expiration for 60-90 days
  3. Allow single or multiple use depending on issue
  4. Description: "Apology for [specific issue]"

Customer Retention#

  1. Create 15% off coupon
  2. Set expiration for 2 weeks
  3. Allow single use
  4. Description: "We miss you! Come back soon"

Class Cancellation Compensation#

  1. Create coupon equal to class value
  2. Set long expiration (6 months)
