    Domain Verification Setup

Verify your domain before sending marketing emails. Verification proves you own your domain and ensures your emails reach customer inboxes instead of spam folders.

    Why domain verification is required#

Email providers like Gmail and Outlook check that senders are legitimate. Without verification, your emails may be blocked or land in spam. Verified domains build sender reputation and improve deliverability.

Verification involves adding DNS records that prove you control the domain. This one-time setup typically takes 15-30 minutes.

    Before you start#

    You need:

    • A domain name you own (like yourstudio.com)
    • Access to your domain's DNS settings
    • Basic familiarity with DNS (or someone who can help)

If you use a website builder like Squarespace or Wix, you can still verify - you'll add DNS records through their platform.

    Starting verification#

Go to Admin > Marketing > Domain to begin. If you haven't added a domain yet, click Configure Domain and enter your domain name (without www).

Naayya generates the specific DNS records you need to add. These records are unique to your studio.

    DNS records you'll add#

Naayya provides several records to add to your domain:

SPF record: Authorizes Naayya to send email from your domain. This is a TXT record added to your root domain.

DKIM records: Digital signatures that prove emails weren't tampered with. These are CNAME records with specific subdomain names.

Tracking domain: Enables click tracking in your emails. Another CNAME record.

Return-path: Helps manage bounced emails properly. A CNAME record for a bounce subdomain.

Don't worry if this sounds technical - Naayya shows you exactly what to add, including the record type, name, and value for each.

    Adding DNS records#

The exact steps depend on your domain provider, but the process is similar everywhere:

    General steps#

    1. Log into your domain registrar or DNS provider (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.)
    2. Find the DNS settings or DNS management area
    3. Add each record Naayya provides
    4. Save changes

    Record format#

Each record needs three pieces of information:

    • Type: TXT or CNAME
    • Name: The subdomain or prefix
    • Value: The long string Naayya provides

Copy these exactly as shown in Naayya. Small typos prevent verification from working.

    Common DNS providers#

GoDaddy: DNS Management → Add → Select record type → Enter name and value

Namecheap: Advanced DNS → Add New Record → Select type → Enter values

Cloudflare: DNS → Add record → Select type → Fill fields

Google Domains: DNS → Custom records → Create new record

If you use a website builder, check their help docs for "adding DNS records" or "custom DNS."

    Completing verification#

After adding all DNS records, return to Naayya and click Verify Domain. Naayya checks if the records are in place.

DNS changes can take a few minutes to several hours to propagate. If verification fails immediately, wait 15-30 minutes and try again.

    Verification status#

Your domain shows one of these statuses:

Pending: Records not yet detected. Wait longer or check if you entered them correctly.

Verifying: Naayya is checking records. This usually takes just seconds.

Verified: All records confirmed. You can send marketing emails.

Failed: Records aren't detected or are incorrect. Check for typos or missing records.

    Troubleshooting verification#

Records not found after hours: Double-check you added them to the correct domain. If you have multiple domains, make sure you're editing the right one.

Type mismatches: Verify you used the exact record type Naayya specified. A TXT record entered as CNAME won't work.

Value errors: Copy and paste values directly from Naayya rather than typing. Extra spaces or missing characters break verification.

TTL settings: Some providers ask for TTL (time to live). Use the default or 3600 seconds. This doesn't affect verification.

Root domain vs www: Add records to your root domain (example.com), not the www subdomain.

Existing records: If you already have SPF records, you might need to combine them. Look for any existing TXT records that start with "v=spf1" and ensure they include Naayya's values.

    After verification#

Once verified, your domain is ready for sending. The from address on your marketing emails will be your domain (like hello@yourstudio.com), which builds trust with customers.

Keep DNS records in place permanently. Removing them revokes verification and stops email sending.

    Domain management#

View your verified domains in Admin > Marketing > Domain. You can:

    • See verification status
    • Check which DNS records are properly configured
    • Add additional domains if needed
    • View verification history

Most studios need just one domain verified. If you operate multiple brands, verify a domain for each.

    DMARC policy (optional but recommended)#

After basic verification, consider adding a DMARC policy. DMARC helps prevent others from spoofing your domain and further improves deliverability.

Naayya provides a recommended DMARC record once your domain is verified. Adding it is optional but beneficial for email reputation.

DMARC is an additional TXT record added to your DNS. The value starts with "v=DMARC1" and contains policy settings.

    Re-verification#

Verified domains don't need re-verification unless you remove DNS records or transfer your domain to a new provider. If you make domain changes, check that verification records remain in place.

Naayya monitors domain status and alerts you if verification issues arise.

    Getting help#

Domain verification requires technical access some studio owners don't have. If you're stuck:

    • Ask your web developer or IT person to help
    • Contact your domain provider's support - they can walk you through DNS changes
    • Email support@naayya.com with your domain name and we'll help troubleshoot

Include screenshots of your DNS settings when asking for help - they make troubleshooting much faster.
