Teaching Philosophy
Gillian was fortunate to find yoga, and Ashtanga in her early twenties and has been practicing and teaching for the last twenty years. She has studied in Mysore with Sharath and Patabhi Jois, as well as with senior Ashtanga teachers Kathy Cooper, Richard Freeman and Paul Dallaghan. She has also undertaken advanced Pranayama studies with Paul and maintains a regular meditation practice. She has been teaching Mysore yoga for over 13 years and is currently Luxembourg’s most experienced Ashtanga teacher.
She studied embodied pregancy and birth yoga with Uma Dinsmore Tuli and is passionate about helping women transform their pregnancies and birth into the experience they want and need. As a mum of 3 little ones herself, she has a special interest in helping students maintaining a yoga practice after the arrival of kids.
She strongly believes that when taught correctly (i.e. with correct alignment and breath) Ashtanga yoga is for everybody. Most of all, she brings a sense of fun and playfulness into her teaching that makes the practice of Ashtanga and Yoga accessible and beneficial to all.
