# Sending Email Campaigns

Send a campaign from a saved email. Choose recipients, test the email in the
template editor, and review the campaign result after sending.

If you are setting up email marketing for the first time, start with [Getting Started with Email Marketing](/help-center/getting-started-with-email-marketing).

## Starting a campaign

Go to **Admin > Campaigns** and choose **New campaign**. You'll choose your
email content and recipients before sending.

## Selecting your email

Pick a saved email from the list. The campaign flow uses emails that are ready
to send and are not already attached to an automation.

**Using templates**: Select a saved email, then check its preview and subject.
The subject is set on the email itself, so edit it in **Admin > Templates** if
you need to change it.

Use a simple saved email when you need to send a straightforward announcement.
Create it under **Admin > Templates** before starting the campaign.

## Choosing recipients

Select **Choose recipients** to open the recipient picker. You can use the
available tabs and search to choose people:

**Customers**, **Leads**, and **Staff**: Use a tab to find people, then search
by name or email or choose **Add all** for the loaded group.

**Segments**: Open a saved segment and choose its members.

The recipient count updates as you make selections. Review this number before sending to ensure you're reaching the right audience.

## Sending test emails

Send a test from the email editor before the real campaign. Click **Send Test
Email**, enter up to 10 email addresses, and send the test. Check the recipient
inbox before you send the campaign.

Check your test email for:

- Subject line clarity and accuracy
- Images loading correctly
- Links working properly
- Mobile layout on your phone
- Overall appearance and readability
- Spelling and grammar

Send tests to team members for feedback on important campaigns.

## Reviewing before send

Before sending, review:

- Subject line
- Recipient count
- The saved email and its preview
- Campaign name

Double-check everything here. Once sent, you can't recall emails.

## Sending the campaign

Click **Send to [number] people**, then confirm with **Send now**. Sending
cannot be undone. After the request completes, read the result shown by the
campaign flow: it reports how many were sent and identifies skipped or failed
recipients when those counts apply.

## What happens after sending

Your campaign appears in **Admin > Campaigns** after sending. Use the campaign
detail view to review its result and recipient list.

## Tracking campaign performance

View campaign results in **Admin > Campaigns**. Click a campaign to review the
available summary and recipient details:

**Delivery metrics**:

- Sent
- Delivery
- Opens
- Clicks
- The recipient list and sent time

## Understanding batch sending

Use the result shown after sending to confirm what happened. A selected
recipient count is not a guarantee that every selected address was sent the
campaign.

## Best practices for campaigns

**Timing matters**: Choose a send time that fits the message and your customers.

**Clear subject lines**: Write subject lines that clearly convey the email's purpose. "Weekend Workshop: Early Bird Pricing Ends Friday" outperforms vague subjects like "Special Offer."

**Compelling preview text**: The first line of your email shows in inbox previews. Make it count - summarize the main point or benefit.

**One clear call to action**: Each email should drive one main action - book a class, buy a package, or register for an event. Multiple competing calls dilute effectiveness.

**Mobile-first design**: Check the template on a phone before sending.

**Test with real inboxes**: Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail can render emails differently. Test in the email clients your customers actually use.

**Segment when appropriate**: Targeted campaigns to specific customer groups often outperform broad blasts. Send workshop announcements to customers who've attended before rather than everyone.

**Review the result**: After sending, open the campaign in **Admin > Campaigns** and check its summary.

## Common sending issues

**Campaign not sent**: Read the failure message shown by the send flow, then check the email, subject, and recipient selection before trying again.

**Low engagement**: Review the subject, message, and recipient selection in the campaign detail view.

**Unexpected recipient count**: Reopen **Choose recipients** and check the selected tabs or segment members before sending.

**Some recipients failed or were skipped**: Read the counts and details reported by the send flow and campaign detail view.

## Simple saved email vs campaign

Use the campaign flow for:

- Marketing promotions and newsletters
- Sending a saved email to selected recipients
- Previewing and testing the message before sending
- Reviewing the send result in **Admin > Campaigns**

Create or edit the saved email in **Admin > Templates**, then use the campaign
flow when you are ready to choose recipients and send.
