# Product Settings Guide

Use this guide when creating or editing products in **Admin > Products**. The available fields depend on the **Product group** and **Type** you select.

## Universal Settings

These settings are shared by the product creation flow.

### Product Type Selection

The picker has a **Product group** field and a **Type** field. The current groups and types are:

**Classes**
- **Drop-in**
- **Class pack**
- **Membership**

**Services**
- **Service**
- **Service pack**

The groups shown depend on the business setup. Selecting a type determines which fields appear below it.

### Basic Information

**Name** is the customer-facing product name. **Description** is the field for the details and terms you want customers to see. Keep both clear and specific.

There is no separate **Membership Type** or **Custom Type** selector in the current creation form. For Memberships, use the settings shown under **Membership Settings**.

**Offer Type** shows **Standard** for all product types. Non-membership class and service products also show **Intro Offer**. The current creation form does not offer a separate **Free Trial** choice.

### Pricing

The form shows a **Price** field for each product type. Enter the amount you want to present for the product and review the customer-facing listing before sharing it.

### Changing a product's price

Open the existing product in **Admin > Products** and edit its **Price** field. For a change to the offer's structure, review the **Replace product** flow before confirming. Check the product details and customer-facing listing after saving.

**Currency** appears beside **Price** when the business has a configured currency. Use the value shown in the form when checking the listing.

### Product Status

After creating a product, use the product list in **Admin > Products** to review its status and available actions. If you need to stop or resume selling a product, use the status control shown for that product and then check its listing.

### Deactivate vs. Archive

The product list can expose separate actions for stopping sales and archiving a product. Before using either action, review the product's current details and any customer commitments that depend on it.

### Replace a product instead of duplicating it

If the offer's structure changes, review the **Replace product** flow from the existing product. Check the replacement's settings, class coverage, and customer-facing listing before confirming.

### Description

**Description** is the multi-line field in **Basic Information**. Use it for the details and terms customers need in the listing.

## Class pack & Drop-in Settings

These settings appear when **Class pack** or **Drop-in** is selected under **Classes**. Some fields depend on the selected type and values.

<span id="bundle--drop-in-settings-credit-system"></span>

### Credit system

**Class Limit** offers **Limited** and **Unlimited** for class products. A limited **Class pack** shows **Credits**. A **Drop-in** is a one-credit product and may not show **Credits**. An Unlimited choice does not use a credit count.

**Validity** appears for a limited digital product with more than one credit or an unlimited digital product. When shown, it offers **Expires a set number of days after first use** and **Never expires**. Select the option that matches the terms you want to show customers.

<span id="bundle--drop-in-settings-purchase-restrictions"></span>

### Purchase Restrictions

**Who Can Purchase** is shown in the **Settings** section. For class products, the current choices are **Everyone** and **Once Per Customer**. Check the customer-facing purchase flow before describing the restriction.

<span id="bundle--drop-in-settings-class-coverage"></span>

### Class coverage

The **Class Coverage** section lets you review where a class product can be used. Check the selected classes before sharing the product. See [Class Coverage for Products](/help-center/linking-products-to-classes).

<span id="appointment-session-settings"></span>

## Service & Service pack Settings

These settings appear when **Service** or **Service pack** is selected under **Services**.

<span id="appointment-session-settings-session-credits"></span>

### Session Credits

The **Service pack** form uses **Sessions** for the number of appointments included and shows **Validity**. A **Service** is the one-appointment type and does not show those fields. Review the fields shown for the selected type before sharing the product.

<span id="appointment-session-settings-session-purchase-restrictions"></span>

### Session Purchase Restrictions

**Who Can Purchase** is shown in the **Settings** section. Review the choices shown for the service product and check the customer-facing purchase flow before describing them.

### Service coverage

Review which appointment service the product is connected to before sharing it. The service and its product are managed in their respective admin areas.

## Membership-Specific Settings

These settings appear when **Membership** is selected under **Classes**.

### Billing Configuration

**Billing Frequency** offers **Weekly**, **Every 2 Weeks**, **Monthly**, **Every 3 Months**, **Every 6 Months**, and **Yearly**.

**Class Limit** offers **Unlimited** and **Limited**. A Limited choice shows **Usage Limit**.

### Activation Settings

**Starts When** offers **On Purchase**, **First Class Booked**, and **Fixed Date**. **Fixed Date** shows a **Start Date** field.

### Eligibility Rules

**Who Can Purchase** offers **Everyone**, **Once Per Customer**, and **New Members Only** for Memberships. Choose the option that matches the offer and review the customer-facing purchase flow.

### Renewal behavior

Use **Membership** for the recurring product type. Review the renewal and cancellation terms shown in the customer-facing purchase flow before communicating them.

### Date Settings

When **Starts When** is **Fixed Date**, enter the **Start Date** shown by the form. Review the selected date and customer-facing terms before sharing the product.

## Advanced Configuration Tips

### Name products clearly

Use a clear product name that your team and customers can recognize. Include the product type or key terms when that helps customers compare offers.

### Multi-Product Strategy

Keep related **Drop-in**, **Class pack**, **Membership**, **Service**, and **Service pack** products easy to compare. Use the type-specific settings above and review each public listing before sharing it.

**Category Organization**

The current creation form uses **Product group** and **Type**. Use those visible labels when explaining where a product belongs.

## Validation Rules & Restrictions

The form reveals required fields after you choose a **Product group** and **Type**. Follow the validation message shown beside the field and review the complete form before selecting **Create Product**.

### Membership Rules

For Memberships, review **Billing Frequency**, **Class Limit**, **Usage Limit**, **Starts When**, and **Who Can Purchase** before creating the product.

<span id="validation-rules--restrictions-bundle-rules"></span>

### Class pack Rules

For **Class pack**, review **Class Limit**, **Credits**, and **Validity** when shown, plus **Class Coverage**, **Offer Type**, and **Who Can Purchase**. For **Drop-in**, review **Class Limit**, **Class Coverage**, **Offer Type**, and **Who Can Purchase**; **Credits** and **Validity** may not be shown.

### Universal Rules

For every type, review **Name**, **Description**, **Price**, **Offer Type**, and **Who Can Purchase** before selecting **Create Product**.

## Common Configuration Mistakes

**Membership Issues:** Check that the selected **Class Limit**, **Usage Limit**, **Starts When**, and **Billing Frequency** match the offer you intend to present.

**Class Product Issues:** Check the **Class Limit**, **Class Coverage**, and any **Credits** or **Validity** fields shown for the selected product type.

**General Issues:** Use the current **Product group** and **Type** labels, and check the customer-facing listing before sharing the product.

## Testing Your Products

Before sharing a product, review the complete form, its public listing, its class or service coverage, and the customer-facing terms for the exact settings you selected.

## Product Management After Creation

Once a product exists, open it from **Admin > Products** to review its details, status, description, price, and coverage. Use the product's available edit or status actions, then check the customer-facing listing again.

Review [Class Coverage for Products](/help-center/linking-products-to-classes) when a class product should cover more or fewer classes.

For type-specific guidance, see [Creating Class Packs](/help-center/creating-bundles) and [Creating Memberships](/help-center/creating-memberships).
